History of the Mill

1969

"Ukrgiprobum" has developed the technical and economic assessment of construction of Kyiv cardboard factory with installation of 2 cardboard making machines K-19, with annual capacity 70 thousand tones of cardboard each and manufacture of boxes from a cardboard with printing in volume 29 thousand tones a year.

1972

The technical project of construction of the Kyiv cardboard factory in structure of Tripolye industrial unit was made, money for inwash of territory were allocated.

1976

The inwash of territory for construction of factory was made. Construction of the enterprise was entrusted to State Logistics Committee Ukrainian SSR. Volumes of production were increased up to 200-220 thousand tones of cardboard a year; production of sanitary-and-hygienic paper was planned. The incorporated management of construction of cardboard and paper factories was created.

1977

Kyivgorstroy was appointed the general contractor of under construction factories. The beginning of construction of the Mill and inhabited micro district, on February, 1st the first pile under the main industrial building was hammered in. In November the construction of printing production began.

1979

The Mill was renamed into Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill. Construction of Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill in Obukhov, 40 km from Kyiv, was a part of the big program of State Logistics Committee of USSR on use of secondary resources.

1982

Specialized management of all-union association "Soyuzorgbumprom" finished installation of the technological equipment, firm "Escher Wyss" carried out assembly of the delivered equipment.

On February, 4th at 23:30 the FIRST CARDBOARD was produced. On March, 30th the first starting complex for 100 thousand tones of uncoated cardboard per year was put in operation. Construction of paper production began.

1983

On January, 28th the second starting complex for 100 thousand tons of uncoated cardboard and 20 thousand tons of a sheet cardboard a year was put in operation. The first export deliveries were carried out.

1986

Planned production capacity of cardboard manufacture 200 thousand tons a year was achieved.

1987

On February, 20th at 18:12 the first toilet paper was produced. In June the paper making machine №1 was put into operation, the shop on processing of paper in rolls started to work.

1988

The million ton of a cardboard was produced, the second paper machine was put into operation.

1989

The shop of the consumer goods was put into operation.

1990

The Mill has completely paid off for the credit allocated by bank on its construction. The first stage in a life of the Mill - input of productions into operation and development of planned production capacities ended.

1992

Crisis in the domestic industry has also influenced the Mill: sharp recession of volumes of production, break of the adjusted economic relations.

1994

According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine "About corporatization of the state enterprises" in July the state enterprise Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill was transformed to open joint-stock company "Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill".

1995

Release of special kinds of cardboards of small grammages was developed: for flat layers of corrugated cardboard (container cardboard 180-200 gsm) and corrugating paper (fluting 112-140 gsm).

1998

For the first time in Ukraine and the CIS countries manufacture of sanitary-and-hygienic paper (tissue) from 100 % pulp with grammage from 15 up to 40 gsm was achieved; duplicating machine "Celli" was put into operation and production of two-and a three-ply paper for manufacture of multiply napkins, handkerchiefs and towels began.

1999

Manufacture of high-quality napkins from cellulose of different colors with applying of 2 color printing was achieved in shop of the consumer goods.

1992-1999

1992-1999 can be named the most complex period in a life of the Mill, but also at this time great work has been lead on development of new kinds of production, putting into operation of the new equipment. As a result since 1995, growth of manufacture of sanitary-and-hygienic paper has begun and starting from 1997 - growth of manufacture of a cardboard.

2001

The decision on construction of manufacture of a corrugated cardboard on the existing areas was accepted.

2002

25 years from the beginning of construction and the 20th anniversary from the beginning of start-up were solemnly celebrated at the Mill. The first turn of manufacture of a corrugated cardboard by capacity 100 million square meters per year was put into operation, lines on manufacturing of corrugated boxes with annual capacity 60 million square meters were installed.

2003

The further development of a corrugated cardboard manufacture: the line of automatic packing of corrugated production was put into operation, the new high-efficiency line for manufacture of corrugated production with rotational cutting was put into operation. Plotter ZUEND L-300 for manufacturing samples of cardboard packing was bought and installed.

2004

Automatic line on packing napkins in a polyethylene film was put into operation.

2005

The conformity certificate of quality control system, that meets the international standard ISO 9001:2000 requirements, was received.

2006

The works on reconstruction of stock preparation department of manufacture of a box cardboard was completed.

2007

The second turn of corrugated production factory was put into operation. Capacities of a new corrugator will allow increasing existing productivity on production of a corrugated cardboard up to 300 million of square meters per year. The processing equipment - a line on manufacture of products of complex cutting and line FFG 924 FP on manufacturing corrugated tare with a print up to five paints in a continuous mode was assembled.

2008

The conformity certificate of environmental management system, that meets the international standard ISO 14001:2004 requirements, was received.
Output of double-wall corrugated board was mastered. Victory was gained at the international packers club contest WPO "WorldStar 2008".
GAMBINI equipment for waste and cellulose tissue paper converting was installed. Production of European standard toilet paper and paper towels was started.

2009

PASABAN paper cutting machine was put into operation in order to produce sheet cardboard with improved consumer characteristics.

2011

Facilities of the Corrugated Plant are extended: flat diecuter line Masterline III (company BOBST) and line FFG 1228 NT (company Martin) are installed.
