Is it possible to combine international product quality, European values of environmental friendliness and safety, Ukrainian identity and respect for multicultural diversity? As a leader in the domestic market of cardboard, paper and packaging solutions, Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill sets new trends in social responsibility and continuous development. On its own initiative, the company underwent a comprehensive inspection of its production facilities and confirmed its compliance with the Halal standard.
Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill is a group of companies with Austrian investments (beneficiary – Pulp Mill Holding), which relies on four key pillars in its operations: production safety, product competitiveness, responsibility to the community and environmental friendliness of all processes.
The combination of these factors has ensured the mill`s reputation as one of the leading industrial manufacturers and taxpayers in Ukraine. However, Dr. Heinz Zinner, CEO of Pulp Mill Holding considers that people are the main value of the company. He means both the team of several thousand employees and the ultimate consumers of cardboard and paper products. Over the years, Kyiv CPM has obtained the status of not only a city-forming enterprise, but also a manufacturer of popular brands.

To stay competitive, Kyiv CPM is modernizing its equipment (EUR 12.5 million of investments are planned for 2024) and improving its integrated management system for quality, environmental protection, product safety, energy efficiency, health and safety, and working conditions in accordance with international standards.
At the same time, the mill is not limited to annual audits and confirmation of generally accepted certificates of compliance (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 50001:2018, etc.) issued by independent organizations, but expands its horizons. In particular, Kyiv CPM has passed the voluntary international certification under the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) system.

Furthermore, based on European and multicultural values, Kyiv CPM, on its own initiative, turned to the Halal Certification Centre LLC to conduct a comprehensive audit of production processes for their compliance with the requirements for the manufacture of the products. These are such commodity items as waste cardboard, corrugated paper, corrugated cardboard, boxes and other corrugated cardboard packaging products that may be in contact with food.
As a result of the inspection, on April 1, 2024, the mill received a Halal certificate confirming that no prohibited ingredients were found in these products and their composition.

It is worth noting that this is the first case of such certification in Ukraine among representatives of the cardboard and paper business: as a true market leader and trendsetter, Kyiv CPM is at the cutting edge and sets benchmarks for other companies in the industry. After all, only fair competition and continuous process improvement pave the way for the future economic recovery.
