On March 30, Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill celebrated its 42nd year of operation.
Over four decades at the market, the company has gained the status of a popular manufacturer and is confidently keeping pace with trends. Despite the war and economic instability, Kyiv CPM has not slowed down, fulfilling its social obligations and continuing to modernize its facilities.
Even in the face of economic crises, the mill has never stopped operations. Today, Kyiv СPM is not a typical post-soviet factory, but a powerful production facility with foreign investments, a market maker in the cardboard and paper products industry, a budget and city-forming enterprise, and one of the leading employers and taxpayers in Ukraine.
The company`s operations are based on four pillars: continuous and safe production processes, competitiveness and modernization, social responsibility, and environmental care.
Today, the mill offers high-quality consumer goods under the popular brands such as Obukhiv 65, Dyvo, Dyvo Premio and Dyvo Business, as well as innovative corrugated cardboard solutions (including e-commerce boxes, mailing packaging and large-size containers), SRP packing, consumer packaging, cast containers, etc.
A year and a half ago the Austrian Pulp Mill Holding, which is a beneficiary of Kyiv CPM, was headed by an experienced manager Dr. Heinz Zinner. Under his leadership and the joint efforts of the Company`s Board, Management, shareholders and employees, Kyiv CPM managed not only to stabilize its operations during the war in Ukraine, but also to increase production and fully implement its obligations to the state and the community.
For the second year, the company has been listed as critical enterprise for the national economy. In 2023 the company paid about UAH 1.5 billion to the budget. The group of companies provides workplaces and competitive salaries for about 3,500 employees, and on its own initiative, the employer keeps salaries for mobilized employees and takes care of their families.
People are the main value: this is the motto of Kyiv СPM. Even 42nd anniversary was celebrated in a European environmentally friendly way: without loud celebrations, but with gifts for the community and the team. “As a socially responsible company, we decided to channel our energy into good deeds,” commented the mill`s representatives.
For example, a large-scale clean up and waste paper collection took place in Obukhivskyi district under the patronage of Kyiv CPM – tons of used paper will save not only forests but also human lives, as the funds will be used for humanitarian purposes. In addition, a new collective agreement was adopted, which will support the large team of Kyiv CPM for the next five years.
Even in times of crisis, the company does not refuse to modernize because Western and Asian competitors are not standing still: in 2024, an Austrian investor plans to invest EUR 12.5 million in upgrading the production process: “I believe in our team and I am confident that despite the current situation in the country, Kyiv CPM will continue to improve the competitiveness of its products. I hope for the state`s support of national business,” emphasized Dr. Zinner.
