Food Safety First: Kyiv CPM presents innovative packaging solutions at Agro2Food

Packaging from the mill is not just an attractive “outfit” for a product, but an important component of food safety.

Not just a “cardboard box” or a bag, but a high-tech product that ensures the freshness, safety, and reliability of its contents. During Agro2Food 2026, Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill PJSC presented a line of modern, eco-friendly packaging for food products, with quality verified by international certification and laboratory testing.

The Agro2Food exhibition, held in Kyiv from October 27-29, brought together leading manufacturers and solution providers for the bakery, confectionery, dairy, meat, fruit and vegetable, oil and fat sectors, as well as beverage production.

As one of the leaders in the domestic packaging market, Kyiv CPM presented innovative packaging for the food sector, made from cardboard produced in-house. These solutions stand out for their thoughtful design, resistance to moisture and temperature, and consistent material quality.

Food industry representatives highlighted the practicality, aesthetics, and hygiene of Kyiv CPM`s packaging.

The representatives of the mill emphasize: “The quality of packaging is the safety of what we consume.”

All packaging solutions from Kyiv CPM are completely free of foreign scents, do not affect the chemical composition of food products, and contain no harmful additives.

For the production of disposable tableware, the mill offers KСВ cardboard made from recycled fibers with the addition of moisture-resistant components and unbleached pulp. This composition provides the products with enhanced rigidity and strength, an attractive and aesthetic design, while also adding flexibility at bending points.

Corrugated cardboard trays for transporting fresh fruits and berries are produced at Kyiv CPM from thick cardboard with added pulp. This material is moisture-resistant and capable of withstanding prolonged transportation and temperature fluctuations.

For the production of Wine-box style corrugated packaging, Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill uses slightly coated F-LUX cardboard (LWC grade according to international standards), made from recycled materials and coated with paste. This combination allows high-quality flexographic printing on the packaging, enhancing its visual appeal.

PBR paper for bags is produced from 100% recycled materials with the addition of moisture-resistant components, making these bags suitable for use in high-humidity conditions and for packaging any type of food products.

Kyiv CPM dispels myths about secondary raw materials being “dirty”

Despite prevailing stereotype, recycled packaging is not less clean. On the contrary, it is cleaned more thoroughly using special technology.

Secondary raw materials at the mill undergo multistage preparation: hydropulping, sorting, three stages of coarse and four stages of fine filtration, water purification, and bactericidal treatment. The final thermal processing during cardboard and paper production occurs at high temperatures, completely eliminating any potentially harmful microflora.

Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill PJSC ensures systematic control of the safety and quality of its packaging products through regular laboratory testing, conducted both in the mill`s own bacteriological laboratory and in national laboratories accredited according to ISO/IEC 17025 and international ones.

Kyiv CPM`s final products are 100% safe for food contact

This is confirmed by supplier declarations, ISEGA certificates, annual audits, and certification according to international standards. The mill holds the following certificates:

  • FSSC 22000 v6
  • ISO 9001:2015
  • ISO 14001:2015
  • ISO 45001:2018
  • ISO 50001:2018
  • FSC STD 40 004
  • Halal

Of particular importance is the FSSC 22000 certification, which validates the effectiveness of the production safety management system, hygiene standards, traceability of products, etc. This certification strengthens trust among food industry stakeholders and reinforces the mill`s reputation as a reliable partner.

Inna Dykova, Head of Quality Control Department at Kyiv CPM, explains: “Ukrainian food producers are looking for new markets in Europe, America, and Asia. International certifications are not just formalities, but real tools for access to global markets.”

The Halal certificate is not only proof of compliance with standards in Islamic countries; it also opens opportunities for Ukrainian exporters in markets across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

“Kyiv CPM packaging is on the same level as foreign analogues and allows our clients – Ukrainian food producers – to successfully compete on the international stage,” – note the representatives of mill.

Packaging from the mill is not just an attractive “outfit” for a product, but an important component of food safety.

Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill demonstrates that Ukrainian packaging products are eco-friendly, technologically advanced, and competitive – bringing more opportunities for the Ukrainian food industry and greater confidence for end consumers.
