Products made from waste cardboard are safe, absolutely clean and suitable for contact with food, which is confirmed by the conclusions of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and independent supervision.
Healthy food is the key to the high-quality of life: in modern world, more and more people are adopting the healthy food philosophy, and consumers` demands for product safety are steadily increasing. Amid the summer heat and power cuts, reliable storage of provisions is becoming increasingly important. That is why KCPM is constantly improving its food safety management systems in the production of food packaging.
As a market maker and a socially responsible company with European investments and values (shareholder – Pulp Mill Holding GmbH), PJSC Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill offers its customers packaging solutions that meet international food safety standards.
KCPM`s technologists brake the stereotypes of waste paper packaging as “dirty”. During processing, the raw material undergoes multi-stage filtration, bactericidal and heat treatment. As a result, the final products made from waste cardboard are safe, absolutely clean and suitable for contact with food, which is confirmed by the conclusions of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and independent supervision.

Thus, Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill has certified its food safety management system according to the FSSC 22000 Certification Scheme, which combines the requirements of international standards ISO 22000 and ISO 22002-4, Additional Requirements of the Scheme and it is identical in terms of requirements to such analogues as BRCGS, IFS, SQF, recognized by the global organization GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative). An international certification body issued a certificate of conformity to KCPM.
The certificate covers the production of sheet and reeled cardboard, as well as corrugated cardboard, both for the manufacture of packaging that comes into direct contact with food and for outer packaging. The certificate also applies to the production of hygiene products from recycled materials (rolls, towels, napkins packed in corrugated boxes).

In addition, such goods as containerboard, corrugated paper, corrugated cardboard, boxes and other corrugated cardboard packaging solutions that may come into contact with food, were inspected for compliance with the Halal requirements on the initiative of Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill. The results confirmed the absence of prohibited components in the production process and in the components of these products. In April of this year, KCPM received a Halal certificate of conformity, which confirms the high level of safety of food packaging and the multicultural orientation of the mill.
Every year, the company undergoes audits and confirms the compliance of its integrated management system with the requirements of the implemented standards and customers. Therefore, Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill makes a powerful contribution to ensuring food security in Ukraine and promoting the European culture of healthy food consumption.
“Continuous improvement of all links of the production cycle through planned investments, increasing the competitiveness of products, ensuring sustainable and long-term cooperation with customers are our priorities!” emphasized Dr Heinz Zinner, CEO and beneficiary of PMH.
