In such a difficult time for the country, Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill fulfils its social obligations in full and supports Ukrainian defenders. On traditional donor days, the company’s employees donate their most valuable asset – their own blood, having collected about 300 litres since the beginning of the full-scale war.
On Tuesday, 2 July, PJSC Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill held its third Donor Day since the beginning of the year, where hundreds of employees, their families and concerned members of the Obukhiv community traditionally participated.
This time, the motto of the event was “Maximum support for the frontline”, as the blood and its components collected will save the lives of wounded Ukrainian defenders and civilians affected by enemy attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Collective donation, as one of free types of assistance, is a conscious choice of healthy person. In addition, it has been a voluntary tradition for several years at KCPM as a socially responsible company with European values.
Even before the beginning of the full-scale, Donor Days at the Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill became a regular and widespread practice. The Russian aggression and the enemy’s violent attacks on the frontline and on civilian targets in the rear made this type of assistance even more urgent and highly-demanded. Therefore, only this year, the mill has already held three-day donor event, where 300 employees donated 132 litres of blood.

‘The teams of blood transfusion centres work on the territory of the mill, as our outpatient clinic has the capabilities to organise the process of safe and convenient blood collection at all stages,’ informed KCPM.
Iurii Golovchenko, CEO of Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill, emphasizes that help to the army is one of the company’s priorities, over 250 employees (10% of the total workforce) are currently defending the country at the frontline. On the initiative of KCPM, the company has kept monthly salaries and provided financial support to the families of the defenders. Charity projects are also in the spotlight of the company.
“Our main value is our team. We resolve all important issues involving the entire workforce. People are eager to work and ready to give their most valuable assets – their blood and money – to help the frontline and the community. Over the past year, we have donated almost UAH 100 million to charity for medical institutions, pre-schools and those people who are defending the borders of our country,” said Golovchenko.
