About EUR 10 million of investments per year, billions of taxes, decent salaries and social security for 3,500 employees, and millions of hryvnias of directed at charitable donations: in 2024 Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill, with the assistance of its Austrian owner Dr. Heinz Zinner, once again proved to be a reliable pillar of the national economy in wartime.
The group of companies of PJSC Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill is one of the largest representatives of the pulp and paper industry not only in Ukraine but also in the Eastern Europe. Thanks to the efforts of the team and the Austrian owner, the company not only continues to work and modernize amid the war, but also systematically supports the economy and social sphere of our country.

Dr. Heinz Zinner is the ultimate beneficial owner of Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill
With the new management team headed by Dr. Zinner, KCPM is increasing its performance annually
According to the Austrian businessman Dr. Heinz Zinner, who in 2022 became the sole beneficial owner of Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill after changes in the capital structure, the enterprise in Obukhiv produces more than 320 thousand tons of products per year and provides the largest share of sanitary paper products and corrugated cardboard containers for the Ukrainian market.
According to data for the first 11 months of 2024, production of sanitary paper increased by 20.5% and boxboard by 1%, and it is expected that December will be no less productive.
The mill`s priorities include investments in modern equipment and waste-free production
This year, with the assistance of Dr. Heinz Zinner, Kyiv CPM has invested about €10 million in technical modernization, including the replacement of Yankee cylinder in the paper drying machine. Such investments ensure uninterrupted operation of the paper mill and help to avoid product shortages on the market.

The mill`s products for e-commerce segment have already been highly appreciated by e-commerce market representatives
Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill also continues to develop the segment of packaging solutions for e-commerce using recycled materials. Every day, Obukhiv mill recycles about 1000 tons of waste paper: the mill`s products are recyclable, film residues are used as fuel for alternative energy, and solid waste is used as raw materials in the construction industry.
KCPM is not only a production facility, but also an example of socially responsible business
Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill provides about 3,500 employees with workplaces, stable salaries (annual payroll is over UAH 1 billion) and a package of social guarantees, including:
- health insurance and our own outpatient clinic;
- a sports complex;
- a canteen with moderate prices.
Every tenth employee of the KCPM is currently defending the country, and 19 defenders, unfortunately, sacrificed their lives for Ukraine. At the initiative of the trade union and with the support of Dr. Zinner, the mobilized workers are paid their average salary, their needs for equipment, medicines and machinery are met, and the families of the deceased receive financial assistance. In 2024 the owner allocated UAH 59.6 million for this important mission.

The humanitarian aid is sent by KCPM every week
In addition, every month the charity commission of Kyiv CPM approves up to 50 applications for targeted humanitarian aid. Since the beginning of the year, more than UAH 6 million has been allocated from the mill`s budget for charity.
Sustainability and development: KCPM`s plans for 2025
Despite the uncertainty of macroeconomic forecasts for the next year, the Austrian owner sets ambitious goals for the mill: further modernization, product range expansion, education initiatives in the environment sphere, and community support.
“In the wartime realities, we will continue to do everything we can in order not to leave the Ukrainian paper industry and people to fend for themselves,” emphasized Dr. Heinz Zinner.
